Buried in a two hour mix lays this lengthy edit of ‘City Of One’ that Pretty Lights dropped back in ’09 during a live performance in Madison, WI. For those who have dug deep into PL’s musical discography and history, you may have already heard this version. For those who haven’t, its interesting to hear how he used to improvised a bit more when he was using the monome, and how part of this edit has manifested into a new release, PL’s mix of Nas’New York State of Mind’ with Wu-Tang Clan’s ‘C.R.E.A.M.’. Definitely worth a listen. Snag it up for free if you’d like.
Hailing from Gold Coast, Australia, Paces may be starting a new bass-music movement. With tracks combining the sounds of Trap, Future Garage, Future Bass, Trip Hop and Ghettotech, he is conceiving a brand new sound. His track, “Leave,” consists of, in his own words, “ukelele, 808 bass, garagey vibes and pitched down lady-vocals.” We’re not sure if this combination of music has ever been put together before, but if there’s one place that attempts it, it has got to be coming from an island in the pacific. Paces has incredible potential to create a new, original sound for the EDM and electronic music scene—something that many of us have been awaiting.
A relatively new producer, James Egbert has a powerful sound that could rival even the biggest names. James has been on the rise like crazy since he first topped beatport charts with his single “In The Beginning”. He shows no sign of slowing down with this release only a month old! This track is massive, some of the most tasteful sound design and perfect sequencing I have ever heard. Whether it is, electro house bangers or soothing trance that gets you going Egbert has got you covered, this blissful track has such a beautiful feel to it, even when it hits its hardest. Die hard Electro lovers will worship this song and any edm listener appreciate its greatness, I can’t wait to hear more from this guy!
Was in disbelief when this popped up. With so much talent coming together on one track, there was no way they were going to fall short of not knocking this remix out of the park and far beyond. If you don’t know the song by name but are a 90s baby, you’ll most likely recognize it immediately once you hear. Combining all their crafts, this four way collab resulted in what is easily the most ground-shattering, genre-blending, volatile, and bass heavy remix of this track to date. Snag it up for free if you’d like and how about the music video for the original? 90s

Hailing from the Czech Republic, Karel Nekola has a chest of jazzy instrumental treasures tucked away on his SoundCloud. Anchorman and glitch-hop? What could go wrong? Probably a few things but leave it up to kLL sMTH to whip up a juicy Anchorman inspired groove, tastefully drenched in some of Ron Burgandy’s jazz flute. To help ease the wait for his highly anticipated ‘Rebel Era’ album, GRiZ has given a new freebie to eat up. With Televisor’s ‘Old Skool’ remix competition over, several of the submission that did make the cut have been released for free. One the top remixes that garnered attention came from Italy’s promising producer Kanevsky, the project of Oscar Quagliano. Deriving a new sound from the nu disco flow of the original, Quagliano tastefully picks and draws from the funk and melodic aspects of ‘Old Skool’ and matches them with a deep and growling dubstep undertone, harmoniously combining each feature to give rise to an stirring and powerful anthem. Snag it it up for free below and If you missed the official Televisor – ‘Old Skool’ (Remixes) compilation, be sure to check it out here as it features some first-rate remixes from artists like Alex Mind, Fractal, Aero Chord & a couple others.
This is in no way meant to sound as if Milkman’s set was the best of TomorrowWorld, which took place this past weekend in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, but it undoubtedly ranks as a big contender as the level of complexity, organization, and execution throughout the mix is incredible. A master mashup tactician and immensely talented producer, Milkman’s TomorrowWorld live set is an absolutely destructive mix that combines a jaw dropping assortment of tracks into one explosive forty-five minute set. There have been a flood of live sets that have come from TomorrowWorld but what Milkman delivered in his set is nothing short of phenomenal. Definitely be sure to snag this one up for free.
