Alpha Data, the now acclaimed project of James Ristvedt, well versed not only in musical language but in legal scripture, harbors and utilizes a bank of sophisticated knowledge that grants him the ability to create seemingly flawless productions, sending one into complete bedazzlement, as done so in his latest remix of Knife Party’s ‘Centipede’. After an informative tidbit, Ristvedt drops the intro of this track into a monstrous mid-tempo glitch-hop jam, wobbling with a nasty yet funky bounce, and grinding with fierce intensity and tremendous complexity. This is an enormous track with musical intricacy, technicality, originality, all roaring at perfect equilibrium with a heavy and filthy sounding electronic groove.
This Friday, at The Miramar Theatre in WI, Alpha Data will be playing with Haywyre (featured here upon the release of his ‘Draw The Line EP‘), opening for the duo Archnemesis, a personal favorite whose ‘Every Man For Himself EP‘ still resounds as one of the best recent electronic releases. If you’re around the area, show some support, the lineup is unbeatable and the show is bound to be incredible. Again, this is a massive tune so be sure to snag this up for free. ☺Enjoy☺
